Psychotherapy addresses personal difficulties and challenges. It provides an opportunity for a person, family, or couple, to talk openly and confidentially about their concerns and feelings with a trained professional. Almost all types of psychotherapy involve developing a therapeutic relationship and working together to address problematic thoughts, feelings or behaviours. There are many issues that psychotherapy can help. 

Psychotherapy aims to increase a person’s sense of wellbeing and to develop capacities for improved relationships. Psychotherapists are sensitive to a client’s needs and utilizes a wide range of skills and techniques to facilitate the client’s goals.

About Our Psychotherapists

Members of the Ontario Psychotherapy and Counseling Referral Directory provide in-depth psychotherapy and counseling strategies for immediate crisis and long-term health. All Referral Network Members have either graduated or are preparing to graduate from an intensive counseling and psychotherapy training program of at least 5 years or are regulated health professionals that come from a wide range of educational and life-experience backgrounds.

Our directory has both Registered Psychotherapists and senior training therapists who can provide low-cost therapy.
