Finding the right therapist shouldn’t be overwhelming. We’ll help you take the first step.

At OPCC, we don’t ask you to scroll through dozens of profiles hoping something “clicks.”

Instead, we get to know what you’re looking for — and thoughtfully match you with a therapist who fits.

Here’s how the process works:

Step 1: Fill Out Our Intake Form

Tell us a bit about yourself and what you’re seeking in therapy. We’ll ask about:

  • What brings you to therapy
  • Your preferences (e.g., therapist identity, language, virtual or in-person)
  • Budget and schedule
  • Any previous therapy experience

Your responses are confidential and help us make the best possible match.

Step 2: We Find the Right Fit

Our clinical intake team reviews your information and matches you with a therapist who aligns with your needs and preferences. This could be:

  • A student therapist (low-cost, supervised care)
  • A graduate or RP(Q) (affordable, insured care)
  • An RP-level therapist (experienced, full-rate care)

We take your preferences seriously — including cultural background, gender, therapy goals, and more.

Step 3: Book a Consultation

Once matched, you’ll be introduced to your therapist to book an initial session. This is your chance to get a feel for the connection and see whether it’s a good fit. There’s no pressure to commit right away — we want it to feel right for you.

Step 4: Begin Your Therapy Journey

If you decide to continue, you and your therapist will set a regular meeting time and begin your work together. Therapy is a space for reflection, healing, challenge, and growth — all at your pace.

Frequently Asked Questions

What if I don’t feel like it’s the right fit?

Just let us know. We’ll happily revisit your match and try again. Therapy is relational — finding the right connection matters.

How long does the matching process take?

You’ll usually hear from us within 5–7 business days. During busy periods, it may take a little longer, but we’ll always keep you informed.

Do you offer virtual therapy?

Yes — many of our therapists offer secure, confidential virtual sessions.

Are all OPCC therapists supervised?

Student therapists are under active supervision by CRPO-approved supervisors. RPs and RP(Q)s may also seek consultation or peer supervision through OPCC’s network.
