All referrals are reviewed by a Registered Psychotherapist

This Is Not an Algorithm. Every Match Is Reviewed by a Registered Psychotherapist.

At OPCC’s Referral Directory, your request is reviewed by a Registered Psychotherapist (RP) — not an automated system.

We believe that therapeutic fit is nuanced. It involves more than checking boxes. It requires clinical understanding of relational dynamics, presenting concerns, availability, and therapeutic style.

When you submit a request:

  • A Registered Psychotherapist carefully reviews your needs
  • We consider therapeutic approach, experience, and relational fit
  • We connect you with a therapist who aligns with your goals

This human review process reflects our belief that therapy begins with thoughtful care — even before your first session.

Why This Matters

Many directories rely solely on automated filters or search algorithms. While efficient, they cannot assess the subtleties of:

  • Trauma history
  • Attachment style considerations
  • Clinical complexity
  • Cultural and relational factorsTherapist readiness and scope

Our referral process is guided by clinical judgment — not code.

A Thoughtful Beginning

We are a psychotherapy college rooted in relational and psychodynamic training. We approach referrals with the same care we bring to clinical education.

Because the right therapeutic relationship matters.
